The last deglaciation: towards model-data integration
The workshop was held in Copenhagen on November 3-4, 2011 and was organized by Hans Renssen, Sune Olander Rasmussen, Simon Blockley, and Didier M. Roche.
General objectives workshop:
• to involve wider modelling community in COST-INTIMATE,
• to obtain an overview of state of the art in modelling (and data) of the last deglaciation,
• to set specific modelling targets,
• to decide how to proceed with model-data comparisons; discuss different strategies such as forward modelling and data-assimilation,
• to discuss how COST-INTIMATE data could be used in this procedure, what would be needed (wish-list), and
• to evaluate the climatic processes associated with past meltwater and iceberg discharges during the last deglaciation through both modeling and comparison against relevant paleoceanographic and terrestrial data.
The workshop also aimed to foster collaboration between INTIMATE and the partner projects MOCA (INQUA project 0803), INTIMAUS-INTIMATE (INQUA project 0806), and ACER (INQUA project 1004).
